Loughgiel came out on top at the weekend and ran out winners of the Liam McGarry Memorial - Centenary Tournament and defeated neighbours Dunloy with a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-12 a game that seen both Antrim teams show that the skill and ability of hurling was still alive in North Antrim. Loughgiel and Dunloy put on an exhibition that could have graced any GAA pitch and in front of a huge crowd of home support Loughgiel retained the title of Liam McGarry Cup Champions in their Centenary year. Loughgiel Shamrocks hosted a GAA weekend and welcomed O'Loughlin Gaels, St Rynaghs & Dunloy to compete for the cup. Dunloy faced O'Loughlin Gaels in the first Semi Final and proved to be worthy winners with a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-8. Loughgiel were to face St Rynaghs in the second semi final and battled on to win 2-14 to 1-7. A great weekend was had by all and all at Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC would like to thank anyone that made the weekend possible.
