15 October 2012
LOUGHIEL 1-25
MIDDLETOWN 0-12
All-Ireland champions Loughgiel safely negotiated the hurdle of Middletown in the Ulster Club SHC semi-final at Casement Park on Sunday.
The Armagh side gave a good account of themselves during the early exchanges and trailed by 0-5 to 0-8 after 22 minutes before Loughgiel stepped up a gear and eased into a 0-12 to 0-5 half-time lead.
Benny Mc Carry struck for the game's only goal early in the second half and the Antrim standard-bearers sauntered to a comfortable success.
Loughgiel will put their Ulster title on the line when they square up to Portaferry in the provincial decider in two weeks time.
