The Loughgiel girls pedigree is well known with the bulk of the team having been involved in last years successful campaign, indeed 18 of the 24 strong panel are holders of Antrim and All-Ireland Féile medals. On Monday past, team member Róisin McCormick won the Antrim Féile skills title.
In this years competition, Loughgiel have had impressive wins over Bridini Oga and Dunloy, scoring a total of 8-20 and conceding only 0-01. Ballycastle too have had an impressive path to the final, easily defeating Portglenone and Cushendall, scoring a total of 11-15 and conceding just 1-02. Like Loughgiel, their team is full of talented, skilful young players, many of whom play along with the Loughgiel girls at School and County level.
The stage is set then for a tough, competitive, entertaining final, which both clubs will fight tooth and nail to win. Please come along and support the Loughgiel girls as they attempt to win an eighth Antrim Féile Crown.
Good luck to the players and mentor Karen and Carl.
