I was very disappointed to see the gates of Fr Healy Pk locked especially during the good weather. With the standard of hurling in decline I think it might be an idea to have both fields open to all at this time of year. I'm sure a couple of young fellas playing hurling in the goal mouths is hardly going to destroy the playing surface. Promotion not prevention is the way forward for continued success for the club.
There are some valid reasons for the gates being locked. If you wish to discuss further please talk to a committee member. I dont think the idea is to try and prevent young fellas playing hurling, we always try and promote it as much as possible.

if the club wishes to enter a team we need expression of interest today. Please post your name and advise if you are available.
You need to be able to touch your toes and do 5 press ups to be considered fit enough to play as dictated by Cooney at the selection discussion as took place in the Pound bar. Please come along if you can

Talking of Murals there is a fabulous mural of Tir Nan Og and Tuatha de Danann in the old clubrooms (at Fr Barrett Park). I wonder does anyone have any good photos of it or what state it is now in.
Many's a great night was had in there!
