Have we responded to this yet?
15 November 2011
Oral History deadline looms.
You will probably have heard of the GAA Oral History Project which aims to receive a minimum of ten responses per club in each county in Ireland.
Responses which will ensure that your club’s history is preserved can take the form of recorded interviews, questionnaires or letters/emails. For full details on responses go to www.gaahistory.com
The oral history project will finish collecting material on the 31st Dec 2011. The take up among Antrim clubs has been low so far and there are dozens of clubs yet to submit ebven a single response.
The more responses submitted by a club, the better represented the story of that club, its members and former members and the county as a whole will be. This project is an opportunity for GAA members across Antrim to record for future generations the work that you, your families and your fellow club men and women have contributed to ensure that the GAA has grown to be the successful organisation it is today. Without your input, your club’s story will simply not be recorded.
The website www.gaahistory.com has all the information you need.
Please get involved, and spread the word among your clubmates and other gaels.
