I appreciate that stewards are volunteers and also respect the safety aspect of parking within the pitch but the question still remains as to why I was not allowed to travel past the pitch to find alternative car parking or better still be directed to this parking with paths on the Lough Road. Maybe something that needs addressed before another match day.
dont know why this happened but again we apologise for any inconvenience and we will try to learn for the next day.

I am very disappointed by the stewards and officials present at the hurling matches today. Me and another mum arrived together for the Creggan match with 3 babies aged 1 and under and a toddler. Coming from the direction of Cloughmills we were not allowed up the road that the field is on and were asked to park out on the main road. With 4 small children this was just not safe and so we were then told we could park at the pitch. On arrival at the gate we were once again told that we could not park in the field unless we wanted to stay until the senior match was over (which was after 8). There was no-one allowed (under any circumstances) to leave in the half hour between one game finishing and the other starting. This was just not practical (bedtimes are well before 8!!) and no other arrangements could be made for us. In the end I had to offload babies, buggies and bags at the gate, turn the car and park out on the main road and return. Once in the pitch it transpired there was car parking available in the field beside Casey's fuels. Cars were able to leave from here between the two matches without apparent difficulty. Therefore the safety of my children had been compromised because the stewards were either not aware of car parking facilities around the club or were too rule bound to consider alternatives.
The field at caseys only became available late on and wasn't in the original plans. There was ample parking space further up the lough road which was provided with footpaths back down to the pitch. As far as entry into the pitch was concerned it is generally for the teams and elderly and disabled to be allowed in as there is just too many pedestrians in the area and due to safety reasons this isn't allowed. We are sorry if you were caused an inconvenience but please try to remember all the stewards are voluntarily and due to the large numbers today were under pressure to do their jobs
